General Purpose of the Job:
The main goal of the AP Associate is to process vendor invoices in CSI from receipt to posting for payment.
Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Process invoices for timely payment to capitalize on vendor discounts
Works with vendors and purchasing and receiving team to answer questions and resolve problems including material returns
Reconciling accounts payable and voucher payable report to general ledger
Responsible for reviewing and processing company credit card expenses ensuring proper supporting documentation and approvals
Analyze invoices for applicable sales tax to use for monthly tax reporting
Maintain files for the accounts payable department by scanning info to keep records up to date and answer other job-related questions
Prepare 1099 reporting at year end to ensure annual compliance for the business
Gather data as needed for annual audits
Provide other supporting functions to the department as needed to ensure department success
Conducts work safely and follow all safety procedures. Rejects work that is not safe and discusses the situation with supervisor.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to work as a cohesive member within the department and company
